The Woman in Black Trailer 2011

There are many different effective techniques that are used throughout this trailer, firstly the dolls at the start are made to look as if they are alive and playing this scary music throughout the whole of the trailer. This soundtrack is recurring throughout the whole of the trailer which gives the trailer scary element. There are many different editing techniques as well as camera angles and shots that create the scary and suspenseful atmosphere. Towards the end of the trailer the there are many different jump cuts that have different visually scary scenes, these speed up and gets faster and faster, as well as that, the music builds up and then for the final scene, the music stops which then goes into naturalistic music that sounds like it is from the film. It then plays a scene from the film in which, a ghostly figure appears from behind the actor. I found this effective as it is sudden frighting images which scares the viewer, which then leads into a scene which is suspenseful as, you don't know what is going to happen as there has been a vast change in pace. I feel I may be able to use this in my trailer so the viewer is hooked by the trailer and want to go and watch the film.

New Idea

We have come up with a new idea that we have brainstormed, we feel that this idea will be stronger than the last idea as we have properly planned and structured the Idea.

We have come up as a group, with a Ghost hunter idea, this style of film will be a horror set in a documentary style of a film, but we have made this idea more structured in comparison to the other idea, we defiantly know where we are going to set the trailer which will be at, Portishead Health Center, we also know who we are going to use in our trailer, furthermore we have decided on some ideas for the trailer. This will enable use to put a story board together, we will then be able to film.

Paranormal activity Research

This trailer is completely different to other trailers, even though you see footage of what is going to be in the film, we also see the audiences reaction to the film, the first time it was shown to the public. This shows the true reaction of the film. This shows the best of both for the film. This makes the viewer want to go and see the film, as you see that you are going to have a genuine fright from the film and it won't just be another over rated horror film. The way in which the film is, filmed with hand held cameras makes the trailer very difficult for the producer, to make a decent trailer. I feel the producer has done really well, he has balanced the horror element as well as giving hints at the story line throughout the trailer.

Analysing horror posters and magazine front covers.

Here is a magazine front cover I have looked at, to use ideas for my own magazine front cover.  As well as a poster I would like to use as a basis for my own teaser poster.

Our initial Idea and Brain-storm

As you can see we have come up with an initial Stalker Idea, in which we have set a task to change the gender roles within the trailer. Instead of having the stereotypical idea of a man stalking a woman, we are going to be having a women stalking a man, we feel we will be able to make our teaser trailer equally as scary if not more for our horror trailer.

We have also planned many different locations as well as actors to be used in our trailer. We feel that this Idea is definitly a strong Idea and that we could go ahead with.

Coursework Options

I have been looking through the coursework options for year 13, one of them has caught my eye. I am hoping to be doing the option number 2, the teaser trailer. I feel I could show off my skill using a camera, editing, acting and being able to create a teaser trailer. I hope to produce a horror teaser trailer and I am able to work well with the group.

My final Double page spread

Here is my final Double Page spread I have taken the pictures away, and made the title almost transparent so the audience will focus on the artist more than the graphics of the magazine.

My progress on double page spread

Here was originally the final front cover but I thought it was to complicated, and there was not enough focus on the main artist. Therefore I changed it.

My Double Page spread first attempt

Here is what I first did with my double page spread, I have kept with the theme and played around with the hue and saturation technique on photoshop for the bottom pictures.

I then proggresed to my final Contents page

I have done many different changes since my template, I have changed the background as I feel that black and green, need to be a running theme throughout the magazine. I have highlited the main artical of the magazine in the bottom corner. I have also put the TTM logo on the botom right hand corner of the magazine.

My first attempt at a contents page

Here is my First background for my contents page and the template I created.

My final front cover music Magazine

This is my final Magazine front Cover I have only eddited the band out of the picture, as we need to see the real person of who actually is in the magazine.

My first attempt at the front cover

I have done no editing to the picture at all, apart from Taking out the yellow band on his rist. I did this using the clone tool.

Flat plan for my final magazine front cover

Here is my first flat plan I am thinking of using for my front cover. I have tryed to create a profesional flat plan for preperation for my front cover. I also tried to fill all of the spaces so none of the front cover wasn't eye catching. I want to try and stick to this flat plan so I can create the best music magazine posible.
