The Woman in Black Trailer 2011

There are many different effective techniques that are used throughout this trailer, firstly the dolls at the start are made to look as if they are alive and playing this scary music throughout the whole of the trailer. This soundtrack is recurring throughout the whole of the trailer which gives the trailer scary element. There are many different editing techniques as well as camera angles and shots that create the scary and suspenseful atmosphere. Towards the end of the trailer the there are many different jump cuts that have different visually scary scenes, these speed up and gets faster and faster, as well as that, the music builds up and then for the final scene, the music stops which then goes into naturalistic music that sounds like it is from the film. It then plays a scene from the film in which, a ghostly figure appears from behind the actor. I found this effective as it is sudden frighting images which scares the viewer, which then leads into a scene which is suspenseful as, you don't know what is going to happen as there has been a vast change in pace. I feel I may be able to use this in my trailer so the viewer is hooked by the trailer and want to go and watch the film.
